“High Pressure Multiphase Flow Patterns using an X-ray tomography system”
Multiphase flow rates were tested in horizontal and vertical flows up to 130 bar in TUV SUD National Engineering Laboratories Advanced Multiphase Facility (AMF). An X-ray tomography system that can provide a time-dependent digital image of the flow along with values of liquid hold-up was used. The occurrence of well-defined slug / intermittent flow regions was observed less frequently at higher pressures. The presentation discusses the on-going work in this area and highlights the applicability of the dataset for multiphase modellers.
